Hi Larry,
Glad you finally got the Pavan! I tried several strings on it and have no favorites. The ones Tom used were as good as any I tried so just enjoy it the way it is. I'm sure you'll be very happy with it, I am sad that I wasn't a good enough musician to get the most out of it. I'm now playing my new Larrivee Om-O3MT which is a wonderful instrument with a fretboard I'm much more comfortable with and the size is comparable to the Pavan. I found that dreadnoughts are actually a little large despite their popularity. Getting back to your Pavan however, it was never out of my den in the time I had it. It's a non-smoker house, the guitar was always cased and has never been bumper, dropped, or abused in any way whatsoever. You have a virtually new instrument with the best sound of any classical guitar I've heard. Best of luck - practice, practice, practice. Joe in Arkansas
