Life is too short to drink cheap beer.

(realized after I posted the blurb below that you'd asked about L-jumbo's on the Guitars page... gave you the same answer twice... :)

There's one over at Cathedral Music http://www.cathedralmusic.com/

Go to the Inventory page and search down for Larrivee.  Here's the description:
J09-E: A lovely used Jumbo 6 string guitar in Rosewood and Spruce that features an LR Baggs element pickup, series 10 fingerboard inlays and a flying eagle inlaid in the headstock. This is a wonderful guitar with a great thumping bass, loud overall response, low comfortable action and can be yours for $1895

Klem at Cathedral is a good guy to deal with; I've bought four guitars from him (3 of them Larrivee's) and traded in one as well.

Dave

thanks for the replies...still looking!

Out of curiosity I went over to Cathedral during lunch to look at this lovely beast... Klem was surprised when I asked about it because apparently several people have called him yesterday & today (the Forum at work!).  Still for sale however as no one has been definitive

It's a loverly guitar.  Nice gloss top with a little bearclaw, even & dark rosewood back/sides.  Two slight bumps on the top which are not visible front on, need to turn the guitar into the light to see them (about 1/4" long each, sort of like a fingernail imprint but probably from bumping another instrument somewhere along the line)

The inlays are really nice.  Understated, actually.  The fretboard inlay isn't the usual vine but more of an abstract block version of vine (attractive, hard to describe).  Eagle on the headstock might be a half-size inlay which I think fits better with the overall size of the headstock... eagle is maybe 1.5" across and well done, not really bling-y.  Clear pickguard and a pickup with volume control accessible just inside the soundhole.  Gloss finish neck, but very smooth & feels rather more like a low-friction satin neck.  Felt like about 1 3/4" nut

Oh yeah and it sounds great too.  Did a lot of back to back with the OM's and others he had there (a nice fiddleback maple OM for $1500 new... good deal!).  Surprisingly to me, the Jumbo had a very similar ring to the OM's on the high strings BUT about 2-3x the bass response on the low E

So... if anyone out there called Cathedral (or is thinking about it) on this one, good luck.  It's a good one

Dave
