Looking for 0 size or parlor

I'd be interested in hearing about any 0 size (Martin "0 Size" that is) and parlors out there that people have for sale.  I have one of the orig. Larrivee parlors (i.e. unbound, satin finish, mahogany/spruce) which is my "go to" guitar.  I've tried several modern P-09s and even owned one for a few months and they just don't do it for me.  I'm kind of thinking a step up from the Larrivee parlor, the same basic size but a little more oomph to the sound.  (No small order in my book.)  Or, maybe a tad bigger like along the lines of a Martin 12 fret 0 size.  The big factors are, a 24 (call it 23.5-24.5) inch scale, 12 fret, possibly a cutaway, 12.5-13.5 inch lower bout and the bridge down there towards the center of the lower bout, and a 1.75" nut.  I prefer mahogany (rosewood typically doesn't hold up to strumming as well, to my ear.)  I am basically a strummer.

So who has what on the block?

  I don't have one ,but one just sold on the forum, You described a 00-50 except they are not short scale. For an inexpensive alternative the Seagull Grand S is slightly larger than a parlor and has a big punch do to the cedar top.

Thanks.  That 00 (as was the Ayers 00 I had) a bit wide (at 14") and the scale was the deal killer for me.  The Seagull would be a definite step hmmm,  how should I say this...  in the opposite direction of where I want to go.  I had one of them years ago and that's not what I'm looking for.  Maybe a SCGC PJ in mahogany?  But, *in* my budget (up to 2k right now).  A 12 fret 0-18 maybe...  (I know the scale is 24.9).  I'm just wondering what might be out there.

Mine isn't for sale, but you might want to keep Gibson LGs in mind.  they have a short scale and I find them very easy to play.  Narrow nut width compared to the Larrivee, but switching hasn'tbeen an issue for me.  I am not a finger picker though.  They are often found in nice condition for under $1k.  Haven't seen one yet though that doesn't have checking issues.

I also thought of this size in a Gibson and the Nick Lucas reissue; but I think they are 14 fret and the lower bout is larger than 14".
                 The L-1 Robert Johnson is a 12 fret but I think has the same Lower bout size and the necks on this at th nut are some of the thinnest made.

Ed I would like to have what you are describing also. Some 1920 and 30s Martins are to these specs. And you may find one in Average condition for that price. 
                 The baby Collings is not exactly what you want but Collings is reported to have built this model to have a proper tone and volume in a small git. Just a thought.    Danny

More and more I'm thinking I *may* have to adjust my budget.  The Collings gets super reviews (I know a couple people who have, or have had one).  There is the Santa Cruz PJ, and a whole slew of small shops that build something similar.  Most are at least half again what I have to spend.  That means selling some (more) current "toys".

Another thought is to keep your eyes out for some vintage no namer on ebay and take a chance at a couple hundred bucks.  I just picked up a no name parlor from another forum with a sweet spruce top and birch B&S.  Has all of the specs you are looking for and it was short money.  This thing has incredible tone for what it is, and fun to play.  By the loks of the one I have, someone has tinkered with it and taken  off the original floating bridge and added a rectangular bridge.  Nothing fancy, ladder braced, but fits my need for a parlor just fine.  Looks like something like this could be a fun project as well.  And if you were to go that route, an instrument you've personally brought back form the dead is going to be more fun to play than any off the shelf number.

Hmmm....  I wonder how high it'll go.  I've missed out on a couple 5's.  One 5-18 and a 5-15.  I'll keep my eye on that one.

G-Man, I've considered that.  Years ago I built some stuff  After looking at my efforts, a buddy did some and it turned out he's got talent.  He has mentioned (in passing) that he's got some nice pieces of wood that I should look over and think about trying my hand again.  If I could find the time...  and meet him at the luthiers crossroads.  (grin)!

It does look like something I would like as well.  So much that it hurts.  Why oh why doesn't Larrivee make these models anymore?  They could do runs every other year or something like that.  Then it wouldn't hurt so much to pass up this deal....

I asked JCL this question on the phone about a month ago and he said they had no plans for a style like this right now because they were having trouble keeping up with the demand from orders that needed to be filled.
      I personally think the P-05/P-09 and up are what is being marketed for the small body right now.

If that 0-50 had a cutaway, I'd have bought it.  I'm a K&K fan anyway so that increases the value...  From all accounts, it is just a "blinged" P-05, though.  All the spec's and woods and bracing are exactly the same, just the trim (binding and fret markers and such) is different.  It may be better graded woods.   I have to say it is a pretty guitar.  I should know, I've looked over the ad a dozen times.  (grin)

I do have a bid in on the Martin 5-15.  I expect to get outbid on it.

If I'm patient, just the thing will pop up...    I appreciate the pointers.
