** Combining my 2 guitars for sale into single post ***

1) SOLD Larrivee 00-50
I really hate to do this because it is such a great guitar, but I am aggressively thinning the herd to pay for some unexpected bills.

This is a Larrivee 00-50, they don't make these anymore.  Beautiful woods and a *big* sound for such a small guitar.  1 3/4" nut.  The 00 size is not much bigger then a parlor but has full 25.5 scale.  It packs a lot more punch then the parlors do IMHO, while still making a great couch guitar.

I am asking what I paid for it 2 months ago, $1450 shipped to lower 48 USA.  Not looking for any trades.

The serial number is 78675, I am the 2nd owner.

I bought this guitar 2 months ago from a really nice forum member named John and I hope that he doesn't mind me using some of the pics he sent me when I bought the guitar from him.  I did take one of those pics myself, but all my pics are coming out with glare and red push, so I think John's look better then mine.

There are a couple small dimples on the back, you have to look for them and too small to photograph.  Also a small scratch on headstock from string changes.  Otherwise flawless as far as I can tell & it comes with OHSC.

2) Gibson WM-45

The WM-45 is same guitar as J-45 (short-scale round-shouldered dred, 1 23/32 nut) but has no burst and does not have any bling.  Kind of like the Larrivee 03 series.  A great way to get J-45  tone without spending a lot of $

It is 2001 model (gloss top, satin back/sides), serial number is 02281009.

Asking price is $850 + shipping. I have sold guitars on AGF, UMGF, Larrivee forums as pg60, on Ebay as goatman860.

Professional setup done earlier this year, action is nice and low with medium strings.

No issues, no big dings or scratches, just normal wear & tear for a guitar this age.

I play fingerstyle and removed the pickguard when I got it. But the top has really gotten golden so there was quite a suntan. One of the pictures shows this. I put on a J-45 Greven-style beveled tortis firestripe pickguard that was perfect match size-wise and looks *very* sharp. I also replaced the tusq saddle with a Colosi Bone Saddle. Original saddle included.

This guitar looks & plays great, and sounds even better. Nice Gibson tone.

Click the picture link, it is worth it just to see the firestripe pickguard

Why wait any longer for the world to begin?

Wow pg60...as a lover of the 00-50, I feel for you!  Mine has a serial number just 2 away from yours, 78677 and is one of the sweetest sounding instruments I've ever owned or played.  Absolutely a joy to sit on the couch and play these too.  The longer scale does help to pump out a lot more sound and the Larrivee sitka/mahogany delivers a smooth tone like nothing else.

Again, sorry you have to sell it but good luck with the sale nonetheless.

Thanks for your sympathy Denis.  I have a love/hate relationship with the long scale, I love the extra pop but it does fatigue my left hand a bit compared to short-scale guitars.

My kids' bathroom sprung a leak behind the wall & I had to tear out some drywall to get to the shower valve.  Now my wife wants to remodel the whole bathroom (which my 2 teenage kids will trash anyway).  Big $, but I can't tell her we can't afford it when I have a closet full of 5 guitar cases.  I need to take that card out of her hand.  I am sure the married guys understand.  Sold 2 so far, need to sell 1 or 2 more.

Sometimes I play the 00-50 and I think I finally found "it", if it were short-scale I think it would be my #1.  So I am not anxious to sell it.  On the other hand if I can get back what I paid for it 2 months ago then life at home will be improved   :whistling:
Why wait any longer for the world to begin?

Well, the 00-50 is definitely "it" for me.  No doubt about it!  Someone should grab this guitar ASAP.  They will be nearly impossible to find soon...they are hard enough to find now!  I was going to buy a 000-50 iriginally but when I found the 00 with the 1 3/4" nut, I was sold!  I'd never even played it.  Dave at GA shipped it to me and I've been obsessed with it ever since.

Good luck with your sale pg60...it should be sold already though!

The 00-50 has been sold!  Thanks for the help Denis  :cheers

Knew it'd sell...can you tell us who the happy camper is?

I'm almost relieved it has sold...  it's been calling out to me, even with it's long scale.  (grin)

Good for you, and the buyer.

This once was a beautiful tiled shower, custom built. It looked like a work of art. Then we saw "black mold" oozing out at the bottom of the door frame. We took out a few tiles to inspect it and had to tear out the whole thing in the end.  It was not sealed right.  There is a large sunken juccuzi type tub to the left of this so I made a large copper curtain rod in a half circle and the wife put in shower curtains. Then I extended the existing rinse off sprayer and changed the head to a nice shower hand held type that is adjustable. It all works fine for now and we have two more in the house. We are waiting for a friend who is a master craftsman to get the time to rebuild this properly. He stays booked up. So meanwhile I installed a large exhaust blower and ducted it out and cut off the A/C supply.
To eventually have a controlled room for hanging dried out guitars. It works great and my wife is fine with it. She showed a friend that area of the house recently and they commented, "wow that's neat to decorate your bath with guitars" My wife chuckled, I sure am glad she likes me.    Danny

That picture is great! I have to show that to my wife.  You are a lucky man if your wife finds that funny  :thumbsup  My wife would tolerate that situation for a short time but would not find it funny.   Or not admit to it anyway.

We had mold on the baseboards, that was the clue.  When I got in there luckily the mold was real isolated.  Knucklehead that did the tile/plumbing job did not use the right adaptors going up towards the valve from water supply, eventually the high pressure caused a leak.  Lesson learned : always use a plumber!

Hi Tad,

Just be warned that having the 00-50 did not make me play as well as Denis does  :winkin:

I really hope you enjoy it!
Why wait any longer for the world to begin?

You guys!!!

I don't know how close you are to me for lessons Tad??  We might have to use Messenger or Skype or something!

Denis - Unless you are willing to teach me how to use Messenger or Skype, we have a whole other problem   :? But you are welcome to come to Berkeley!

That new video of yours (plus the others!) really did give me the push I needed - When I get her from the FedEx folks, I would love to know what tuning you use and maybe a tab for a few measures to help me start trying to figure some of it out. That much help could shave years off the learning curve for me -

But really -  I wanted a smaller body "couch" guitar, and tried a Parlor and found it too small and with very little bottom. I think that this one will have more, and will also be the only slot head I've ever had. I'd say I can't wait for it to get here, but as soon as it does I "got some 'splaining" to do to my wife -  :whistling:

Hi. Do you still have your Gibson?

Yes I do.  In spite of all the 00-50 love I still have a Gibson WM-45 to sell  :nanadance

$850 + shipping.  It is a great deal at that price so the price is firm.  I have been getting some ridiculous lowball offers.  This is a J-45, exact same guitar off the line, only difference is in the finish/bling.
Why wait any longer for the world to begin?

the WM-45 is still for sale  :nanadance
