I have posted a pic of my LSV-11, it is now my newest.  Here's the newest and oldest guitars I've ever owned. I like them both in different ways. The old Gibson is a hog with a spruce top, some call it a parlor but it's closer to a 00 Martin size. (Gibson's L body) The Larri looks like a scared kid afraid to get in a scrap.(bleach white) The old Gibson is ready for whatever else may be coming round the corner. A few more dents or cracks won't make much matter. The neck is only 1 9/16s at the nut. Capo necessary for me.
So what's your oldest git and your newest? Happy playin, Danny :guitar

Thanks Joe, I think I look a lot more like the Gibson than the Larri. But then I am a baby boomer, high mileage but still "runnin and strummin" Danny  :guitar

Danny...I just adore your Gibson!  Where does one need to be, to find such a gem?  :nice guitar:

In the right place at the right time with cash in your pocket. Of course I was keeping an eye open for this size of guitar and old Gibsons are a weakness for me. Danny

Danny, I have your gibson's brother I got mine back in 77 it's now my second oldest and I would never part with it. I put a ceramic saddle in it but i will be switching back to the original rosewood saddle. It's the sweet one of the bunch.  Lot's of mojo. Michael

Yours has been cared for a little better. Mine does have the ceramic saddle also
Someday I might make an ebony bridge with a bone saddle and nut. I'd like to do this myself
so it may be awhile. Danny

I got so excited about the gibson I forgot this was about newest and oldest Gits. New to me D-60, and oldest........ my 1903 " Up to Date " ( yes that is the brand name ) oak parlor. It sure has that small box ladder braced oak sound in spades. Flathead ( michael )

Now that's OLD! Which ones get the most play time? Danny

Danny, they get played in this order. D-60 the most by far ( I'm a flat picker ), than my D-05, My yamaha LL-25 after that ( great guitar ) than the B-25 and when I'm stoned and think I can play the blues the "UP to Date". my other guitars just don't get much play with this Line up. Flathead.

Yes, of course, "in the right place...", but where is that "right place"?  A local music shop?  I suspect, I'm hangin' out, in all the wrong places! Lol

Michael...your 1903 is sure a wonderful artifact to have!  What a beautifully shaped body, she has!  I can't say, I've ever heard an oak body before.

Please take no offense that I ask, but...
are you sure about the nut being 1 9/16 ?

Back in the 70s I had a B-25 (not an N). I don't recall the neck being more narrow than standard.

I looked up the B-25 on the vintage history site below and did not see the nut size listed.
Here is the link in case you have an interest

I think I have one picture of my old B-25. ....will try to find and post

Looking at your picture, it may just be the camera angle but..
the soundhole looks LARGER than usual and the placement of the soundhole looks higher up - toward the nut - than usual.
I would expect that on a 12 fret but the B-25 is a 14 fret.

If the soundhole is larger and placed closer toward the nut I would expect the B-25 to have pretty good treble but so-so bass and to have pretty good volume for a guitar that size.
I traded my B-25 back in the 70s and don't remember much about it

I do remember the sunburst was pretty, the small size was comfortable to hold,
and the one I had was nearly impossible to get in tune -

B-25's came in full size and 3/4. The neck is the slimmest I've ever seen on an acoustic.  The 3/4 size is a Gibson L.
The sound hole is larger and seems to be shifted towards the neck. It doesn't have the big boom of a J-45 but it is loud and the aged mahogany and spruce have a mellow sound when strummed. It is extremely effected by dry air conditions, so even though it's small and easy to tote around it won't stay in tune for long outside of a controlled environment. Danny

I just measured my neck and nut, on my B-25 and Danny is right. Mine is right @ 1 9/16"  also. It is a very slim neck. and the action is just great and the string tension @ correct pitch is low also. It almost plays by it's self. It's the guitar that got me back to playing again.  Flathead.

Yea the 3/4 sized B-25 is a Good sized Gibson. Barely larger than a parlor, but with a much broader sound.
Mine was made in 1966 the last year they made it with a natural top, it was there "deluxe" model with the
better tuners and top, now it's old and cranky and has to have things just right or it won't make sweet
               sounds.
Anyway Here's a pix or two of my newest git. I actually like it more than my Gibson.
For some that's a no brainer....but some of us like Gibsons and would rather have a "Nick Lucas
or Arlo Guthrie" model than the latest "Clapton" Martin.
So here is my newest git, A LSV-11 :guitar :thumbsup
