Ok I am going to order my OM-03 very soon now!
It will inclued setup from where I am puying it, But as I am an absolute beginner, I do not have a clue as to what I want......I imagine I will be starting out mostly with a pick, but I do want to learn fingerstyle as well. Mostly oldies, soft rock, gospel and country, is what I am into. I will be alternating between my Gretsch electric, and the Larrivee, how ever I have a hunch more of my time will be with the acoustic.....Because of the electric, I am thinking light strings but you all will tell me better (maybe?)  I have no idea about what to ask for for height or anything so  Can you all give me advice what to ask for?

Thanks

Gretsch Americana 2 of them And Yes I like them!
Well now I got good guitars, Just gotta learn to play them!

Just them what you told us, they should be able to take it from there.

Is it from notable?

Lights(.012) are a good starting point.

Yes, I think I will get it from Notable .
Seems well spoken of here. And pricing seem attractive.

Then you're in good hands just tell him what and how you play. You don't need to know measurements.

Got my OM03 from Jason almost a year ago and thought the setup was fine. Have had no problems and it plays great with pick or fingers.

Hi, first post here. My question seems related, so rather than start a new thread, I'll semi-hijack this one.

How long should one wait to get their setup? I'm finding the action on my OM-03SP is making it difficult to play (my first acoustic, but I've played electric for years), but I've been told this will change as I play.

Is this true? Anything I can do to speed up this process?

Thanks!

Not true, it won't change... well humidity can make it change but that shouldn't be an issue if you control your humidity (which you should). If the humidity is ok, get the setup done soon as possible.

My humidity is well controlled - bought the little humidifier and everything. Of course, Toronto is so humid, I haven't had to fill it much over the past month.

The guy at the store told me to bring it in after about 8 months. Any ideas as to why?

One more quick question: Will having the setup done change the sound significantly? I LOVE the sound of my guitar as is, it's just exhausting to play.

probably not unless you make large adjustments. Larrivee's don't come with really high action or lot's of neck relief so you should be alright unless you set the action extremely low.

Awesomeness. Thanks to the both of you for the advice - I'll take it in this week.

How will I cope without my precious here?  :crying:
