If you were me you would not have to write it down.  Just pick up the guitar!  ....  and to the point, I hosted a gathering of Acoustic Guitar Forum folks last Saturday and my teacher (an incredible musician) came.  When a little jam broke out on freight train blues, he grabbed my Larrivee parlor, picked up the tempo, and put down the best break I've ever heard.  Talk about having that parlor sound better than it ever had before!  A thrill for me and everyone that was there - and others guitars being played included a Thompson cutaway, and a very nice Martin.  Pics were posted at the AGF site under DC Area gathering if anyone is interested.

A Larrivee (and other brands) told me that the Larrivee 03 series were as well made and sounded as good as high end Martins Collings with which I'd been quite impressed, noting many similar touches like ebony fretboards and bridges, one-piece dovetailed necks, etc. When I played one, a rosewood dread, it saved me about three grand.

Well, I am still loving my 000-50.

It is definitely the best looking and sounding guitar I have ever played.  I could not be happier with it!

Glad to hear you're loving your Larry's. I've been away from the forum for awhile but am back. Just ordered an OMV-60 from Guitar Adoptions that should be coming pretty soon so I'm excited to hear it! Larrivee has always been the best bang for the buck in my book that easily holds its own against some of the higher end/boutique guitars out there. I remember my LV-03 and how great it sounded only to regret trading it in for a 314ce Taylor... huge mistake! I'd be interested to see how this new OMV-60 pairs up against my Goodall RCJC which is probably the best I have played. Take the Larry and double the cost and that's how much I paid for my Goodall... It's no hidden secret, Larrivee is one of the premiere guitar builders out on the market at such a nice price point!

I KNOW my Larrivée L-03 IS the best sounding guitar that I have ever heard or played ...  AND I know how fortunate I am to own it.

Several of my more experienced guitar-playing friends and neighbours have voluntarily said the same thing also ... many have since gone out to buy Larrivée guitars for themselves.

I own a spectacular Martin Om18v that get compliements all the time -- records very well. I also own a Goodal RCJC that is absolutely the best playing guitar I own and sweetest voice.  And time and time again, I am getting out my larrivee OM 03R and less than half the value of the Marton and less than one sixth the valeu of the Goodall and it is 100% as much sweetness of either.  I was once going to sell thos OM-03R on this board but I wnated too much apparently $685?? was too much??  So I'm keeping it and not selling to anyone.  The OM-03R and L-03R's are just magnificant values.

I haven't posted here in a while but I need to add to this thread. Yesterday afternoon our church had an outdoor gathering/picnic etc. I play in our praise team band, (D03-RE) and was asked if I would play yesterday afternoon for some group singing. All acoustic, unplugged. I carried my L-03R to the outdoor gathering. There was an original Stuart Mossman dreadnought, a Martin jumbo, a Taylor 714CE and an Ovation. I have to tell you that the L-03 held its own or rose above all of these. It was the first time that I had really played it in a group with a few other high end guitars. The only one that came close was the Mossman as far as volume but it didn't have the clarity of my L-03. To me it is a fantastic guitar that I wouldn't trade for any of the others that were there.

Best thing I can say about Larrivee is that every one of my guitar playing friends wants to buy one after they try mine for about five minutes.  I don't let them play any loner lest they should get any ideas about stealing my OMV-03.

Ok here I go. This ain't no new thing to me.  I've had my L-10 over 27 years.Serial # 1614. I have never jonsed for another guitar. I've often checked them out, and played some really good ones. I won't say mine was the absolute best of them all, but there was not enough of a difference to shell out the money. The only reason I think about it sometimes is to get a different sounding guitar, but then I always come back to thinking that mine is really versatle.  I think one of the reasons for that is that it's so responsive. I can brush strum it and get a really smooth rhythm when maybe somebody else is more busy, play blues and get a VERY stinging sound with bends and vivbato and great sounding bass runs. Bluegrass, well it doesn't sound like a Martin, but with pick in certain position that's a little looser, the bass loosens up a little, then if I want to push it some I move the pick back towards the bridge and can project a definitive alternating bass or whatever that can kinda lead the rythm without sounding like you're trying to bash the groove into everyones head. Mellower fingerpickin with bare fingers and certain sounds by slapping it, and clear as a bell chiming when I put on finger picks. Ballads where you want slow sustaining notes. well you get the idea. I found an old recording of misc stuff I'd done just tonite and listened to how good it sounded with like 5 different styles of tunes. I've sometimes wondered about folks who were looking for more and more from thier guitars on this forum  :?and it's good to see all you, satisfied, happy excited Larrivee owners. I was starting to wander if maybe they don't make em like they used to as I still haven't played any of the new Larrivee's. Keep it and love it as I've done mine and you'll probably discover many, many sounds you can get out of it. That's a good reason to keep a good guitar for a long time. You can come to know it well and find how carress her so she will give you a variety of satisfying sounds.
Somebodys loaning me an old Hummingbird Tommorrow that they will sell to me cheap, probably under a grand. I'm curious to weather even at a good price,  I'll bite.  Here's to all ya'll
