I think my Larry is one of the best sounding guitars Ive ever played !

Im not posting this just to blow my own horn, but Ive had the opportunity to play some really nice instruments in my short lifetime - Lowden , BR Martins . Collings , gallagher , upper end this and that -- But im astonished by the complex tone of my OMv60 , sounds like a guitar thats 4 times its price , dont think most pro guitars are its equal - yet all i hear about are Martins , Lowdens , etc- etc---have those guys ever tried a Larry --- if they did maybe all you'd ever hear about it Larrivee this and that ! i know most players that endorse certain guitars dont really play them , i wonder if Larrivee is sopose to be a secret among top players ?

What's a "pro guitar"?

I've played Collings, Martin, Bourgeois, Taylor, Gallagher (at the store, never owned any) and my Larrivee. All of them vary in tone from brand to brand, and as individual instruments. I think it's best to say that all of them resonate exceptionally well, as they should given the price. Good to know you're so satisfied with your OMV though.

I once tried several Martin OMs at my local shop and thought they were all nothing special and even a bit overpriced. I guess I was just spoiled by my modest little OM-03R.

I agree Tony...I think the Larrivee brand can hang with any other guitar made today....no matter what the price.It's a good thing that Jean doesn't charge based on what they sound like......otherwise we all might have to fork out 15 or 20K for one.

I get compliments on the sound of my L-03, my plain old, run-of-the-mill L-03, all the time.  When a guitar is made right, with the right materials, by the right people, it's easy to make it sound good, no matter how much or little it costs. 

Oh, and my new 000-15S....heaven!!!

I am so proud whenever someone picks it up and says wow, this is a good guitar.
You can have your Martins and ect,,,,my larry is just fine for me.

I believe the real value in Larrivee's is the consistancy.
In my Larrivee experience each model I have played from the 03 to the SD-60 has been phenominal.
Comparing price, I do believe you get a great value with a Larrivee.

I have heard some amazing Martin's, Gibson's, Taylor's, but I have also heard some real clunkers too.

Larrivee just seems to be so consistant, I have yet to hear a bad Larrivee.

A great sounding guitar is a great sounding guitar,  reguardless of what on the headstock,  or what it cost.   My wife says my Larrivee D03MT is my best sounding guitar,  and I've got a few real nice guitars.    My favorite changes from day to day.

Sorry - didnt mean to preach to the choir - Im just tired of folks telling me how good their 7 or 8 thousand dollar guitar  is , and personnaly i dont think some of them sound as good as my Larry - just feel like a lucky SOB somedays - wondering why theirs not alot of larry dealers around , you never hear about Larrys as much as the other top end brands - almost feel like were in an elite crowd.

None of these people were hung up on prestige instruments, obviously. They worked on their craft. I like the fact that Peter Yarrow and Bruce Cockburn have played Larrivees. But, mostly, I now have a guitar that is no excuse!

Hey there Tony B..... Glad to hear that you like your new Larry and good luck with it..... Nothing quite as bad as buying a guitar that you're not pleased with.... though it does happen sometimes. Larrivee has yet to let me down, and although I don't typically like comparing the Larrivees to others I do think that some models of other guitar makers (high and low end) often do make better sounding guitars in some cases.... Then again, its all in the subjective ear of the player. That's why I own what I do.... Little bit of this and that... its gotta sound good to my ear.

Glad your new Larrivee sounds good to yours.
