Strap pin on Goodall necks

Anyone here have experience with installing a strap pin or have had a one installed by someone else on a Goodall guitar neck heal?  i'm contemplating installing a pin on mine but there being that it has a bolt on neck i need to know what areas on the neck would be safe for the pin screw.  connecting the strap at the headstock works ok but the truss rod cover leaves too little room for the cord to wrap around the headstock without tight contact with the strings passing over it.
