Vox Valvetronics for Acoustic?

Hello everybody,
    I have a Vox Valvetronix AD30 that I have been using with my electric. I just recently bought a new acoustic with a pup and was wondering if any one has been using one of these amps for their acoustic guitars? If so, what settings do you use?

Yes, you can do it.  Just set the amp for Black or Tweed (Fender Models), Boutique CL would work fine too probably.  The default reverb setting sounds good with it also.

I didn't think it sounded too bad, but I have only done it at home at relatively low volumes, not live on stage.

How do you like it otherwise with an electric?  I have an AD50VT.  I like it for the most part, the tone is pretty close to all the amps it models but I'm not as happy with the dynamics(Since the power section is solid state).  I think I'm going to get an all tube Mesa Boogie if I save up enough money this summer.  I'll still keep the vox though for at home because I think a 50/100watt tube amp will get the police to my door in a hurry :GRN>.

An acoustic guitar needs a very clean amp with speakers that handle the wide frequency range. A regular guitar amp just doesn't work that well.

I have a AD30 and use it with my electrics as a practice amp. It's a killer little amp and for the money ($239) it a great deal.  The other guitar player in our band, Blue Thrill picked just picked up one too and we actually gigged with them last week in a small club situation. They both worked great. I normally use a Cyber-Twin when playing out but we will start using our VOXs for small clubs.

I recommend that you get an acoustic guitar amp for your acoustic. I run a Roland AC60 that I picked up for about $400. I use a speaker stand with it to get off the ground. I also just picked up a Roland KCW1 Subwoofer to tie in to the subwoofer line-out on the amp and now I have lots of bottom end for a fuller sound. I'm still toying with the settings but the rig seems to work great.(I had the first chance to really play with it last night) I'm finding that I just need to run the KCW1 at a low volume and it adds a lot.  I also started using compression (BOSS CS-3) and that helps control the the signal and keeps everything at a consistant volume level.

If we are playing out with our part time female lead singer I will bring both the acoustic rig and the Cyber Twin one for my acoustics and the other for my electrics. I also have a Nashville Tele with the fishman bridge and I will run that into both amps at the same time.  It's a good thing I have a day job to pay for all this stuff.
