I'm a big fan of Jansch and Renbourn, but I don't really know their Pentangle work.  I think I have one Pentang;e CD.

Keith Richards has been quoted  as saying, "If you don't play acoustic, you don't play guitar" .

I saw John Hiatt in concert in August. His comment, as he strapped on his Telecaster was:

"The electric guitar is the fountain of youth."

He's right. Playing an electric is just fun and it makes you feel 20 again.

I saw him also about then...he may have mentioned that when he put on the Tele, but he mostl;y played a Gibson J200 or some such.

I saw Hiatt twice in 2005. The first time was with Lovett, Ely and Clark and he played a sunburst Gibson the whole time.

The second time was with NMAS and he played the Gibson for about 2/3 of the show and a Telecaster for one third.

This will sum it for me ,when I play electric the guys come around when I play acoustic the woman come around, needless to say I  don't play electric anymore

In all serious I played electric for many years but once I started playing acoustic there was no comparsion.Playing acoustic to me is alot more fulfilling.

"Playing guitar is your mind and  hands connecting with your heart and soul"

I don't understand the this OR that mentality. I'm interested in playing anything with strings... acoustic, electric, bass, mandolin, lapsteel.... what else you got??

Of course, that being said, I still reach for my L05 most often.
