Hi,

Any thoughts on strings for Larrivee LS-03 Silver Oak ?  What has been your experience with Silver Oak in general?  I find it to have a rather distinct tone.

THANKS!

I had a C-10 that was Alpine Spruce/Silver Oak. Nice sounding guitar, but I found I didn't need the cutaway.

The strings that are quickly becoming my favorite for both my Larrivees and my Martins are DR Strings Veritas strings.

They seem to have more volume and power that similar strings... which has resulted in my using Lights rather than Mediums on my guitars, yet still feeling like I get the volume and tone of Mediums without the extra tension. Win win.

They cost about $1.50-2.00 per set more than comparable Martin or D'Addario strings (about $8.50/set at Musician's Friend), but they last a LOT longer - I agree with their marketing that they last around 3-4 times as long, and yet they're not coated/treated strings.

I have a LS 03 Silver oak , and have settled in on D"addario phosphor Bronze ,recently tried a set of there Xt  and just pulled them off, over the years I have tried a few types of Martin strings ,but always go back to the D Addario  Phosphor Bronze , but always open to try something else . DR Venitas ,I will have to give them a try.
