Well, it is time for my annual offer to help arrange a forum get together in Oxnard.  Spring or summer is best.  So, let me know if there is some interest.  I am sure at the very least factory tours and a forumite seconds/blems sale could be arranged.  Probably anyone interested in a custom order could get a good look at available woods.  And, you would get to meet the members of the Larrivee family.

For families ..... Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Citywalk, Universal Studio and beaches galore.  For wives .... Rodeo Drive.

For first time California visitors with some time, a drive from San Diego to San Francisco is a once in a lifetime drive ...... you can visit about all of the California missions, Laguna Beach (with the Pagent of the Masters and the Sawdust Festival in the summertime), Malibu, OXNARD, Santa Barbara, Solvang, Cambria, Hearst Castle, Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, San Luis Obispo (tour the Resonator guitar factory). Big Sur, Carmel, Monterrey (see and tour the aquarium), Santa Cruz (Sylvan guitar shop and tour the Santa Cruz Guitar factory) and then San Francisco with too many sights to mention.

Anyhow, if there is interest, let me know.

Hmmm...

Sounds very interesting...thanks for the offer. Would love to finally meet the Larrivee's (I've had several phone conversations with Matthew about pickups and guitars). Also wouldn't mind meeting you and some others from the forum here.

Have to see if I could convince my wife. If it was any time in the next month or two, she would jump at it, since it's very cold here right now (-5 this morning!).

Let's keep this conversation going...

I have been to the Oxnard shop a couple times and picked up my 40th Anniversary Edition right from Jean's hands.  It's
always a great experience.  I live in the San Francisco area so I would try to make it if it comes together.

June is a great month here.  That would be my choice.y

BTW..... I have lived in SoCal for 67 years .... I can aid in planning things for your wives and kids to do when applicable.

I would love to make that trip, but due to the distance it just doesn't fit into my schedule for this year.  It would have given me a chance to revisit many of the coastal spots I passed through during my 1970 Toronto to California hitch-hiking trip!

Have you any ideas for the husbands and kids?

Became a Shooting Star when I got my 1st guitar.
Back in '66, I was 13 and that was my fix.
Still shooting for stardom after all this time.
If I never make it, I'll still be fine.

Depends upon what they like to do ..... shopping (we have a huge outlet mall near Oxnard), biking, beaching, fishing, amusement parks, sightseeing and so much more.

For me, June or August are available.  So, let me stick my toe in the water one more time.  Would anyone be up for a forum get together in Oxnard in either June or August of this year?
