Another "Disappeared" Custom Thread??

I started the thread and I pulled the plug on it.

While I am terribly disappointed (that the guitar wasn't built to my specs), I've decided it's not fair for me to say much publicly when Larrivee (the company) hasn't had a chance yet to address this mistake.

So, just to clarify, it was me, not the moderators, who shut down the topic.

I think that might be a good idea, since we do not know who made the mistake.  For example, you said that hog top was written on the order.  However, I believe the dealer would have phoned the order to Larrivee ... So, who made the mistake?  Did the dealer not mention it (sometimes your eyes fool you when you are reading), or did Larrivee not write it down.  I hope you get a satisfactory answer.

Larrivee has only made an error on one of my custom orders.  I did not want to return it, and Larrivee, their representatives, and my dealer all knocked off a bit for the mistake.  I am still very happy with it.  All of my other orders were perfect, so they try very hard to please...

There was an e-mail sent to Larrivee that had all the requested specs on/in it... so they received it in written form. "Mahogany top" was the first item on that list. The dealer showed me the e-mail on his computer screen (which I also have a copy of in my e-mails).

Just about any other spec mistake (e.g., dot fingerboard markers instead of the diamonds I ordered) I probably could have lived with, but the all hog was really the main custom spec the rest of the guitar was built around/for.

Here we go again discussing this in a new thread. I would be very happy if the person who started this thread closed it. Thank you.

I really don't understand why the recent issues that forum members have had with costom orders can't be documented and discussed in a reasonable manner.  To me these are different than standard QA/QC issues and would also form a body of knowledge that would give those considering custom orders an expectation based on real world experience of the forum.

I have requested that the mods lock this thread in deference to Mikeymacs request.  I will not delete it though, sorry.
