Hi All.  Newbie here.

Currently looking at a NOS RS2 with humbuckers.  Currently have a D03.  Love that guitar!  Are the necks similar?

Unable to try the RS2 since I'm a couple of states away.  In Pittsburgh, I haven't found a dealer who sells Larrivee electrics!

My current electric axes include an ash highway 1 tele, a squier double fat tele deluxe, and a guild bluesbird.

Since this is my first post, I'm not quite sure of all the rules, but may I ask what a reasonable price to pay is?

Thanks for any and all feedback!

Nice to see one who reads the rules thanks for the  :donut :donut2

The neck will be somewhat similar to your D03

These gloss RS2's  on the used market right now. Anything under $1000 and
I defy anyone to find a better guitar at that $. Having said that there is THIS ONE in our for sale section that has lasted way longer than it should as it's given it away. They really are a supreme guitar in every way.

Welcome to the Forum HQGreen!

At least in my experience, the necks are pretty similar to Larrivee Acoustics, maybe ever so slightly shallower. As Andrew said, you really cant go wrong with an RS-2, especially sub 1k.  Good luck finding yours and make sure to let us know how you like it.  We are also generally pretty good about answering questions around here, as long as we know the answers.

That's my guitar. The guitar I've owned the longest and played the most is my 2004 LV-03 (I've owned maybe a dozen guitars, electric and acoustic, many different brands.)

When i first "wore" this guitar, it was the neck that impacted me, because though the guitar felt foreign, the neck was a familiar old friend. That's due to scale length and the wonderful light satin finish that you're no doubt familiar with from your dreadnought. The carve is the same, although the overall width is slightly narrower.

I just took a dial caliper to both guitars to answer your question factually.

NECK at the Nut (not the nut itself)
LVO3 = 1 3/4" (1.760")
RS2   = 1 11/16"(1.683") Actually a Difference of .077" (that's thousandths - or almost 2 mm) in my case

@ 12th fret
LV03 = 2.170"
RS2  = 2.075"

Using the caliper over the strings, not very precise, at the third fret dot and at the 9th fret dot, both necks are within a couple thousandths of each other.

So basically, the numbers back up what my brain and my hands already told me. They are very very close, and if you love the neck on your D03, you'll find it a very smooth transition.

And that doesn't begin to address everything else about these beautiful machines.

As for cost...under 1K is a steal for this kind of build/components. Seems what I've been seeing is in the 850 - 950 range. I would encourage you as others did to consider that other forum members guitar. Great price. Realize that these guitars came out of the shop barely 24 months ago, and depending on when the seller got ahold of it, well, they just can't have that much playing time on them.

Also, the glossy bucker equipped version came and went. Don't know how many were made, but it's a unique tone, to my ears, and one that will always be a unique guitar.

Gook Luck. No buyers remorse here.

Hey thanks for the measurements Tio, and for the advice Joyce and bacchus.

I'm currently talking to two sellers, one red, one black.  I prefer the black, but we'll see.  I saw the one on this forum, but I'd really like to grab something with a ohsc.  If it's still available, someone local has a black rs2 for sale, with buckers.

May the force be with me...

Good luck!!
