Is someone from the forums trying to buy and salvage this poor guitar? Only reason I can think of for bids on this.

Looks like a Larrivee to me. As Walkerman said Art is in the eye of the beholder.
The seller has a money back guarantee so there is no reason not to bid if you like what you see. And he does explain why it is painted.

Look at some of the major guitar builders that make relic editions, not much difference here it seems to me.

If you could get it for less than $600 you could always use paint remover on it.

It looks like the neck is intact and that he only painted the body.

it will be interesting to see if its worth more as a work of art opposed to a guitar.

i will gamble, as to how well built Larrivee's are that it's still playable.

i'd play as is as a musical work of art....... :guitar
"Senior" member means "old" right?
Like over 50?

Too many guitars to list here.
Too few brain cells to be bothered with...

Looks real to me ... and if I saw this locally (I don't do eBay) for under $100 $250 I'd snap it up if it was playable.

In the sellers listing       "This was a brand new Larrivee Parlor Guitar. I am a graphic artist, and was commissioned to make a vintage-looking guitar for a Hollywood film. This guitar has some cracks (Made by a luthier...) on its face below the bridge."

If the cracks were made by a luthier they must be good cracks.

the cracks don't bother me nearly as much as the "art" on the back.

I am not one to judge what one calls art but I do know what I like, and I don`t like this.
