Just thought I'd post this link to a 78 classical I came across tonite on Kijiji in Edmonton.  Looks like a real nice one.  No affiliation whatsoever, just posting in case someone is interested.

Wow!  Seems kind of expensive but these things are rare ... and I really don't know the specs on it.  I wish the seller had posted more pics.

:? :? A barely used 1978 Larrivee Guitar for under a G. If that Guitar was anywhere in the Maritimes and the actual was anywhere close to the description well...... it would not be long before it was in the backseat of my auto with a Calton quickly on order.

It sounds too good to be true

I think you're correct about the "sounds too good to be true" statement.  I don't believe that the seller doesn't know what he's selling.  I guess I'm totally unfamiliar with Larrivee classicals other than its been many years since the've been produced and didn't realize it should cost much more than that, assuming the description is correct.

Is it valuable from a collectors perspective or because they are truely great classicals?

Easy enough to email the seller right from the ad if you want more pics or info, etc.  I emailed him/her last night and told him about our forum, suggesting he might want to join and advertise it here.  I got a prompt reply saying "thanks for the info".

The least expensive Larrivee classical I have seen was $1200 and it was not as nice as this one appears.

I agree this seems like a good deal for someone.  I have been watching CL and other forums for some time and if this guitar is what they say, that price is very attractive for someone's Xmas present.
