Up for sale is my 2008 Larrivee L09 in Indian Rosewood/Sitka in near-mint condition. While this guitar is a stock model, it is a very fine example of Larrivee's flagship L body tone and workmanship chosen from among 2 dozen different Larrivees (see below).

The voice on this guitar is very modern and complex-a small piano-while retaining signature Larrivee sweetness. It has good tonal balance and is a good generalist, responsive to both hard strumming and a lighter touch. I would not call the guitar a "cannon" as it is not overly loud. It is moderately loud and projects well. As such it works very well as a singer/songwriter guitar. The complex overtones really support one's voice while not getting in the way with overpowering volume.

The action is at 6/64" and 5/64" at the 12th fret with just a bit of relief in the neck. It feels very good and plays nicely.

The only condition issues I can find are a very small gray spot under the finish (measures 0.2") on the back of the upper bout and a small scratch on one of the shoulders of the headstock. It is in near-mint condition.

With all guitar builders some individual guitars are better than others. This is a great one-IMHO, a very fine example of a Larrivee. I bought this guitar from a local shop where they have literally 2 dozen different Larrivees in the high-end room. I went there to see if I could find a really fine individual. I was not biased toward any particular wood combo or body size. I played many 9s, 10s, 50s and 60s in different body styles from parlors to 12-fret dreads. This one-a stock L09-was heads and tails above the others.

The first thing I noted about this particular guitar was the sitka top. Unlike most "clean" Larrivee tops, this one looks old. It has a yellowish cast with darker cinnamon streaks throughout. It also has very nice silking throughout. Several luthiers have opined that the top is likely old, displaying the telltale signs of having aged naturally. I tried to confirm this with Larrivee, but they don't keep such records.  It is very beautiful and classy looking IMHO. If you need a "clean" top, this guitar is not for you.

The East Indian Rosewood set is dark with very nice grain. The sides are particularly nice looking. The curly maple binding is exquisite.

It comes with the stock Larrivee arch-top case and truss wrench.

I am letting this guitar go with mixed feelings. It is a great guitar and I enjoy it very much. However I would like to free up some cash to do some other things, so I have to make some choices.

$1250  $1150 PayPal'd and shipped CONUS FedEx or UPS Ground.

I've shipped many guitars and know how to pack 'em.  :)
