Hey, trying to get more punch in a live setting.  The 03-R has such a rich sound but it doesn't seem to come through the mix.  It just sounds flat, whereas another player's Taylor comes through beautifully.  I normally run the Baggs preamp e.q.s at 0 (detente) so the sound engineer can set those as he sees fit.  Is that why?  Is it the engineer's problem?  I also have a Fishman Pro EQ Platinum Acoustic Guitar Preamp DI for another guitar with no preamp controls.  I dídn't think I needed it with the Bagss onboard the 03-R.

Any advice is appreciated!

The sound guy may be running his set up flat also.I prefer setting my tone were I want it.I mic my acoustic thru a mackie 402 which runs to a powered pa cab for my stage sound and then I give him a direct signal via the right side output from the mackie. Most of the time the guy at the board will set my channel flat.

if the Taylor player has the expression system installed well then there's perhaps a reason there.  Much more control with that pickup system than just an I-Beam.  Describe 'comes through beautifully' in more detail.  I've heard Taylors amplified that sound nice and some that sound pants.  Usually it's the player knowing how to use the expression system.  Many years ago there was a 'Jars of Clay' signature model of a Taylor 500 series that just sounded glorious amplified.
