Gday all, Im not sure if its the same in the US or other parts of the world, but here in Oz its Fathers day.

We went up to my sisters place about an hour north of Melbourne Victoria last night for my twin nephews 13th bday, and stayed the night. My dad also came up, along with my brother and his clan so it was a nice family get together. My sister and her husband manage an Angus Beef farm with a property approx 3000 acres. So the kids had great fun, we all over indulged ourselves with food, drink (soft drink for the kids!) and had some great laughs.

Happy Farther's Day Scott.     In the U.S. we celebrate it in June but I'm happy to celebrate it again.  Being a father (not just a sperm donor) is one of the most important jobs a man can undertake.   Often times we take our own fathers for granted.  I know I did and now that he's been gone for 10 years I wish I'd spent more time with him and thanked him for bringing me into this world and giving me some sense of how to get along in it.       Even if the day is contrived by greeting card companies it's good to have one day where we stop to think about what our fathers mean to us.
