Just bought a used OM-05 and notice now that inside on the top side wall there is a green patch about 2 inches long. There is no apparent damage near this area so I'm wondering what it is. Can anybody tell me?

Thanks.

This is normal.  All Larrivee guitars have this "patch".    It's re-enforcement in the event that a pick-up system is installed that requires a "barn door" type of cut into the side for the electronics.     If the guitar didn't come with such a system you will find this re-enforcement on any Larrivee guitar.    The only ones that don't have it are the ones that came with factory electronics.

Thanks tuffy! I have an LV-03 with electronics so I'd  never seen this reinforcement patch before. The reinforcement for electronics notion makes sense to me now that you've explained it. :donut :donut :donut

This patch is a very special paint, originally developed under a NASA and CIA collaborative effort, attempting to devise a method of stealth global location and tracking capabilities. Unless you want the government knowing your every move, you can send it to me and, for a reasonable fee, I'll deactivate the enabling device and, just to be sure, send you an Alvarez that doesn't utilize this technology.
