THIS GUITAR WAS SOLD OVER A YEAR AGO :cop:

Whew....this is REALLY tough. I ordered this one from David in April of '07, delivered in October, so it just had it's first birthday. One of the finest instruments I've owned for sure. I told myself when I made a huge investment and picked up the Goodall, I'd probably have to let it go.

I requested a very stiff Engelmann top for this one, and David delivered. Rumour has it that he has almost 1000 sets. The reason I did this is that I've had some Claro/Engelmann guitars that were more "tubby" or "muddy" in the mids that I'd like. I wanted clarity through all the registers. The grain in the top is so tight at the bridge area you can hardly see the lines.

The Claro is incredible, as you can see from the pics. David sent along pics of a few sets and when I saw that one it was all over. This was initially going to be a Mahogany guitar.....so much for that!!

Florentine cutaway, Cocobolo binding and wedge at the enpin, full ab top and rosette, 1 13/16 nut, 2 1/4 saddle spacing, ebony tuner buttons, Baggs passive I-beam installed by my tech at Elderly's (with antique finished jack).

I had the frets reseated/reglued/dressed and leveled a month or so after I got it.....sometimes in shipment and changes in humidity you'll get some lifting. Some folks think it's because the Ebony hasn't fully dried yet.....who knows. Really very, very little fretwear in the cowboy chord region.

Other than that the guitar is AS NEW cosmetically. There is one very minor thing I'd like to mention. When I received it, the neck was dead flat when tuned to pitch with light guage strings and the truss backed off all the way. I typically like a little relief and I called David and spoke with him about it. He told me to let it go and see what happened over the next few weeks. About the same time, I discovered GHS Juber True Medium strings. With these on, the neck had just a perfect amount of relief for my playing (which includes drop tunings). So, I just forgot about it. A few weeks ago, I put a set of lights on it out of curiosity and while the neck wasn't completely without relief, in drop tunings I was getting some very slight dampening (not buzzing, just a little decrease in volume) Builders and techs will tell you this is a much better problem to have than a neck that has too much relief. The remedy here is to heat press the neck and put some relief back in it, then you can slightly adjust the truss and get it "right. This is a very simple and pretty inexpensive procedure IF you need to get it done to suit your style.
If you play with a lighter touch, I doubt you'd need it, and that is only if you use light gauge and play drop tunings.

The instrument comese with the standard Webber issue TKL (premier?) black exterior/red interior 6 latch case for 2175.00. This price is with payment via Bank Cashier's check and don't include shipping on my Fedex account. I will ship to the lower 48 only. If you have to use paypal, we'll work something out, but I can't absorb the fees.
If you ordered this guitar today, it would be at least 4200 list (this is being conservative on the upcharge for the Claro of this quality) and you'd pay about 3300 at discount, and wait about six months.....this is without the pickup or upgraded case.

As always, will ship polished up, fingerboard and bridge freshly cleaned and conditioned, and a fresh set of Juber GHS True Mediums installed....highly reccomended for this guitar tonally as well.

***NO TRADES***

Hi Todd, :wave

Larrivee C09

Larrivee owners should take a good hard look at Webbers and this Webber in particular.  Aside from David and the Larrivee's being neighbors of sorts, the Webber sound offers a nice complement to each other. My LO3R is nicely complemented by my cedar/mahogany Webber Roundbody.  I think the 03 series is one of the strongest values out there and I feel the same about Webbers....the price is higher but you do get alot for those extra dollars.

I had pulled this off the market.....really hard decision to make here.

I'll put it back up for a few more days at a new, lower price (reflected in the first post) I initially listed it at 2250, I'll take 2175 now......that's as low as I can justify going.

Is this still for sale? Please send me a note.
Thanks, Ron
