When did the DV-09 stop production, or, for that matter start?

I see very little on this modle, just curious about it's run, I absolutely love mine. Rosewood/spruce with maple binding and full rich projection. I can't imagine that they had limited popularity. Enlighten me.  :wave

Thanks! Usually I use Cleartone bluegrass (12-56), but I do slap a set of D'addario Exp mediums on every once in a while just to make sure I still like the Cleartones  :arrow

Beautiful guitar.  It looks like a DV-10.

Looks like all it's missing is the abalone pufling.  :nice guitar:

Thank you all, I dearly love it, it is a DV-09, it was special ordered by someone else, but they decided they really should have they headstock inlay too, (personally I like the standard stock and really prefer the maple binding over the 'loanie.), anyway it's mine and I couldn't be happier. I've had for a few years now and it has just gotten better every time I play it, then again, maybe it's me  I really went in for a Collings but wanted to compare the Larri, Martin, Taylor and the Collings, but that's another long winded story.

When I ordered by LV-09 (I nearly went for a DV-09, but preferred the 1 3/4 nut width on the L) back in Feb 2005, the DV-09 was being phased out - so I think 2005 is your answer, at least to the end date.

The 2005 models had ebanoid tuner buttons and no transparent pickguards. Earlier models had chrome tuners (earlier still and they had gloss necks and before that gloss headstocks too), whereas 2006 onward they come with tortoise pickguards (but still ebanoid tuners).

Hope this helps!

Thanks, mine has a start date of 4/27/04 according to larrivee. But it was a special order model, I just haven't come across many Dv-09's and my curiosity was peaked by the lack of reference to them. I sure do love mine, the guys at Carlton in Lakeland did a wonderful job on the set up for me and I am sooo spoiled by this guitar. I do get GAS every now and then and have to go exploring, but my standard has been meet,  :bgrin:
