I bought one of these off eBay out of curiosity-- good thing I'm not a cat or I'd be dead.  Basically it's a wide, brass C-clamp that goes on the headstock and adds mass to that end, stabilizing it and forcing the guitar top to vibrate more.  It is also supposed to even-out deadspots on the neck.

I am happy to report that it does make a difference on my L-01!  I suspect that it won't on every guitar, but mine is now louder and the tone has more bass and lower-mid amplitude (the FatFinger is presently clamped on the bass side of the head, just above the nut).  Repositioning the clamp brings out other frequencies.

Just thought you all might be interested.

People seemed to ignore me when I suggested lead tuner knobs to add mass the headstock?
