after many years i finally decided to upgrade, and i got a jumbo!  i decided on going with the kk pure western mini from all the positive reviews, but im trying to decide whether or not i need a preamp on the guitar.  i really dont want to cut a hole into my jumbo, but that seems like the only way without getting an external one.  most of my playing will be through the pa system at my church, so a preamp isnt necessary.  are there any reasons why i would need a preamp?

Good choice!  Try it passive and  first and if you like what you hear you're good to go. That will most likely be the case.  If you need to boost the signal or tweak the sound with EQ, then try the Pure preamp.  They're small, inexpensive, and unobtrusive sitting on the floor in front of you. Not much bigger than a cigarette pack.
