On Saturday, my son and I met with a couple of my friends to see Jorma Kaukonen play on his 85th birthday tour with his buddy Jack Casady and some of their friends at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC. This was one of the best and well planned acoustic shows I've seen.

For those of you who are interested, check out the tour dates on Jorma's website to see if he's playing anywhere near you. He plays in Ann Arbor, MI tomorrow and Skokie, IL on Wednesday and a few more shows between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Watching a soon to be 85 year old guitarist still playing for two hours straight is inspiring to a soon to be 70 year old player.

Cool, and nice to read that "use it or lose it" in human biology is still a thing. I'm fortunate not to have arthritis in my hands as my sister does and I can honestly state that my playing dexterity is still pretty darn good. My brain will likely fizzle out before my fingers do . . .  :roll

Glad you got to see them.
I'm actually in Ann Arbor but I can't be there tomorrow.
It's a SOLD OUT show at The Ark.
I've seen Jorma and Jack a few times. I met them and helped them get set up and situated into the Green Room at The Ark a few years ago when I worked there. They were as polite and easy-going as any artists I worked for there.
Oh yeah (almost forgot) the music is great too!  :humour:
