Hey Danny  :wave
I don't think Oxnard is in any immediate danger. Quite a ways west of where the fires are now.
See the map.
Hope you're doing well.

thanks, actually I just got out of the hospital. My first time to be admitted. I was a mess but I'm improving everyday now. My doctor wants me to take a month off of work but I already started doing some work but I get exhausted easily and that limits me.
I cleaned off my work bench and started working on my guitars. That will keep me busy for over a month for sure.

From one of the Larrivee FB pages.... someone asked if Larrivee is a affected....

Matthew Larrivee
No not at all. Weather has been clear and beautiful. The smoke is blowing out to the ocean because of the wind direction. If anything, for us it has been a positive as we have some mahogany back and sides drying out in the santa ana winds. :>
We're about 10-15 miles away from the fires

Also, John texted me they are in an area that is safe, surrounded by agricultural fields of strawberries and low lying fruits and vegetables.

I am sure others have asked and got similar answers.

I'm glad to hear that Larrivee won't be affected.  Does anyone know of any guitar makers who were?

Auto Fire', burning between two golf courses in Oxnard
Firefighters and crews responded to a new brush fire in Oxnard, Ventura County on Monday. Videos on social media showed flames spreading near the River Ridge Golf Course around 8 PM local time. The California Highway Patrol incident page reported a marrive fire breaking out on the Santa Clara riverbed around 7:15 PM near Ventura Road and Auto Center Drive.

The Auto Fire is burning between north Victoria Avenue and Ventura Boulevard. Authorities confirmed that at least 75 Ventura City and Oxnard firefighters are working at the scene. Northbound traffic of the 101 Freeway was shutdown.

According to reports, the fire reportedly started as a car fire that quickly spread to the brushes.

The "auto fire" and Larrivee are both shown in this screenshot.
The auto fire is between the two golf courses mentioned.
I used the map at the bottom of the Larrivee home page to locate this stuff.

That google map is really useful. Did not know until the last couple days.
Click on that map to bring it up full screen, and you can bring up many several displays. The most interesting is the topography display, where you can see all the hills and wild areas around and west of Los Angeles. For some stupid reason I thought it was mostly flat around LA, but it isn't. And I have actually been there and was wrong about it all.

I've only been there a few times myself but the Hollywood Hills, Laurel Canyon and Valley Girls are all legendary.
