Yikes, I found this interesting, but Target has apparently expanded their 3rd party vendors on their web site so you can now buy your next Larrivee at the same place you get toilet paper and gift cards.

The vendor is Music123 and, I dunno, it just has a weird vibe for me that they're doing this. Another nail in the local music shop coffin. I suppose they're following Amazon and Walmart's lead on expanding their internet sales, but I gotta wonder how well it'll work out for returns. Music123 seems to offer all their returned guitars on their own web site as well as eBay. The evil devil on my shoulder whispers in my ear that this would be a great way to test out some models I can't find in my home town.

Using a Target card gets you a 5% discount so there's that . . .
Larrivee OO-05 • Larrivee OOV-03 SS • Larrivee OO-44  • Taylor 322ce • Strat • Soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/jpmist

You should see some of the weird, specialty things that stores like Walmart, Sears, Kmart, Target, etc have been offering through 3rd party vendors for years now. You can buy things that you would never see in the actual retail stores because the website is simply offering up their SEO/marketing power in exchange for a cut in the profit. They are drop shipped so you aren't receiving any of your 3rd party stuff in the same shipment as your Target order.
They used to promote this stuff heavily in search engine results but I get the sense that it never really took off because I see it less now than I did 5 years ago.

Music123 = Musicians Friend = Guitar Center.

They have another Marque I can't remember now, but they are all really Guitar Center under the hood.

Most of Music123's open-box/returns are from the Musician's Friend arm of the business.

I was going to say that many would claim that it would be no worse than buying a guitar from Guitar Center.  :beer
