Do you guys loosen the strings when changing tuner buttons?  Rob?

No real reason to do so but if it makes you feel safer loosen. With that said I also don't loosen strings before cutting them for string change's I also cut them all at once.

Steve,

I am thinking about changing the chrome tuner buttons on the 50th with a set of Ebony or Pearl.

Will these Schaller M6 replacements knobs from StewMac work?

Question similar to MarkJ's - looking for nice wood buttons to replace those on my Om-40 (burst). Suggestions?
