I received a notice yesterday that Larrivee is offering a 25% discount this week on many items available through their pro shop in honor of Jean Larrivee's 72nd birthday. If anyone ever wanted to upgrade bridge pins, add a strap or buy some nice swag, now's the time to do it. Here's hoping that Jean enjoys a happy birthday and reflects on a life well lived, building top quality guitars with his family and friends. Today, my two all mahogany Larrivees (LV-03 12 string and 00-24) are getting a lot of playing time. Now, if only I could get my hands on a used LSV-30 classical guitar with a 12 fret neck, gloss finish and Venetian Cutaway to try, I'd have it made.

I thought it was his 82nd Birthday.

And *others*

I just ordered some bridge pins for my instruments (a set of bone and a set of ebony). I want to see if there is a sound change compared to plastic. I was watching a video yesterday of a comparison of Martin pins on the same instrument. Look like the response favored bone over plastic and liquid metal.

William you were right about Jean's age, my fingers typed it wrong in my original post. I  :thumbsup took advantage of several prior discounts and added a couple of t-shirts, sweat shirts, tuning gears, and upgraded pins on my Forum VI and 00-24 with ebony pins. I'm not sure the pins made a noticeable difference on tone but I think the combination of woods used, a bone nut and saddle, scalloped bracing and light gauge strings on each guitar does. Good luck with your pins.

A belated happy birthday to Jean!!!
