Hello,

I'm interested in buying a D-50 and I've only been able to play the original (natural coloured) version. I'd like to know if the sunburst version has any difference's both in sound or build. I noticed in pictures that the neck is glossy on the sunburst version and satin on the original but both seem to have lacquer finished bodies. Do they have the same finishes? Given the difference in price, is the only difference the colour? thanks

When you are doing your comparisons be sure not to mix the D-50 with an SD-50 easy enough to do for sure.

The 50 MAHOGANY TRADITIONAL SERIES is a very nice guitar for sure and nobody does bursts better than Larrivee if that is what one desires in a guitar,  other than the burst no real difference between the guitars. The models and their makeup are here on the Larrivee Site

But also a good breakdown and model comparison was prepared by our good friend ST HERE

Hope this helps and once again   :welcome:
