An acquatance offered me his Gibson Hound Dog Dobro at a very very reasonable price Problem is it suffered a fall - a drop on the end pin I am guessing. It doesn't effect sound or playability.

Questions

- is this crack likely to get worse without immediate professional attention :?

- realizing some cracks are more cumbersome then others where does this fit on a scale of easy to most difficult :?

- what would a ballpark estimate either in hours or $ to tackle a repair similar to this  :?

A pic is attached below tho I realize difficult questions from a pic

Is the body wood or composite?Either way it needs to be fix as the tension of the tailpiece will cause it to crack more. You may also want to check the interior end block as it may also be damaged.

Thanks Rob, the body is laminate. As for the end block,  are suggesting to look for further cracking here or movement thus further compromising this guitar :?

Its a pain in the butt but pull the resonator out and slide a couple of fingers and feel around, your looking for any movement.
