My Guitar Abs

I thought since it's warmed up I would take of my shirt and show off my guitar abs!

I remember a quote a few years back from an aging hockey player for the Philadelphia Flyers who was told that one of the young newcomers had a "washboard" stomach. To which the veteran replied: "I have a washboard stomach too. The only problem is that mine is buried under 12 years of laundry."

My 6-pack abs turned into a keg!

I used to have a washboard stomach but I found that it adversely effected the tone of the guitar.  The muscles inhibited the vibration of the back wood and reduced the overall resonance of the guitar.  A soft "doughy" stomach (best created by drinking quality beer) that has been 'aged' to improve the flow of sound waves will yield a more full and vintage tone.
