Just made a few soundclips of the different PUPS on the RS4. Crude recording to my MP3 player and saved on my computer. Converted and tried to attach to a post on this forum - BUT it tells me it's too large.

Any step by step advice on how to post this for me ( the technically computer aged challenged)???

I signed up for a free account with box.NET, which is a service that facilitates file sharing.  You can upload files up to 25MB, and once uploaded, it will give you a share option, and a link you can paste into your forum post.  If it is an MP3 file, the listener will have the option to listen, or to download the file from box.NET.

Takes a few minutes to upload, and because it isn't aimed at music like Soundclick etc, it is much simpler to sign up to.

Fire me a PM if this is of interest but I haven't explained it very well.

If your ISP gives you a place to upload files, you can put it there and post the url here as Ben described.

Soundclick and Google Docs are two other options for uploading a music file. You might not want to upload an .aif or .aiff file as they can be rather large.  :donut2 :coffee :donut

Something to keep in mind when choosing a server is to make sure it has a player available. Posting links is great but many of us who have had to reload hours of info due to a hijacked or virus loaded link won't download it. The advantage to soundclick and other music sites or box.net is they have a player so you do not have to download the file to your computer to play it. Just a heads up, I know I do not download from links anymore and am not alone.

Music files can be put on any server. It doesn't have to have a player available. The player gives you a Graphical User Interface to choose the files, but FTP or any web directory still make the files available, and the .mp3's will be played on your system.

Hi Joyce - the short of it is: You can't.  That is, you can't attach a sound file to a post on this forum.  You have to up-load it somewhere else, and then you can copy the URL or address of the file into a post here on the fourm.

The posters above are suggesting several places where you can upload your music, and then link to it from a post here on this forum

Make sense?
