Hi all,

Unfortunately I just missed one on eBay and am kicking myself I didn't use the buy it now option. I'm looking for a nice L03 (R preferably?) or an L03 with similar tonal characteristics, as well as hearing from anyone who's had the opportunity to try L03's with different woods for the back and sides to understand how they compare. I went through a costly divorce a couple years ago, lost my job.. sold all my guitars and am finally in a position to buy an acoustic again.

Preferably interested in one in like new condition, but would buy used as well at a discount. I really, really miss playing and this is the guitar I need. Please PM me with any offers, pictures, description and ownership info you might have.

Thanks!

Dragnink,
I have an LV-03RE that I am considering putting up for sale.  It is in like new condition, and hasn't had much playtime since I purchased an L-03MH last December.  It is a 2007 model, with the LR Baggs Element pu with preamp on the side.  If you are interested please email me at cphillips55@verizon.net and I will take some new photos of it tonight after work.  I would be willing to sell it for $975.

Dragnink,
As the designated enabler on this forum for all things silver oak, it seems only fitting that I take a moment to sing the praises of this special tone wood.  Visually and sonically unique, lighter in some ways than rosewood, but not thin, not too bright.  I know trying to find adjectives to describe tone is entirely subjective, but let me default to my standard line -- if you have the chance to play an L03 Silver Oak, do yourself a favor and jump at it.  It offers an interesting alternative to Mahogany and Rosewood, not better necessarily, but different.  I've had mine for just over half a year now, I play it everyday, and it just keeps sounding better and better.
Good luck on your search and keep us informed!

Hi guys, thanks for the messages. I don't think I'll have the opportunity to sit down and try a bunch of different models (I live out in the sticks) so your input is really appreciated. I forgot to mention I would prefer a non-cutaway for aesthetic reasons, and one without any wood taken out of the guitar for pickup systems. I found the sound page on the forum where a standard Mahogany L03 was demoed, and to my ears that one sounded a little nicer (maybe it had to do with the guitar being closer to the mic?). It seemed to handle fingerstyle and strumming equally well.

What would be really great would be to find one of the older L03's that had the clear pickguard. I recently found out this is one of Jimmy Wahlsteens main acoustics, and can be seen in some of his videos on youtube. (Rapid Eye Movement is one of my favorites..)

Still kicking myself for missing the one on eBay last night...

Hey check this one out on eBay. These guys are moving out their remaining 09's, and keep in mind that eBay will charge them about 8% on a fixed price listing so you can probably get it for a grand if you bypass eBay.

Just wanted to provide a little update, I have a nice '00 L-02 with a custom stained sitka top (to match the mahogany sides/back) and hand-voiced *scalloped* bracing done by a luthier/fellow board member that will be on its way soon. Can't wait to get my hands on it!

Thought you may want to know, I have a 05 L05 all orig w/ factory case, warranty card, etc.   Like new, asking $975.  Just doesn't get played and it's a shame it sits in the case staying protected.  Let me know Ted 512 377-9135 or tblentrprz1 at earthlink.net

I have a 2001 L-3R with the clear pick guard that I am considering selling. Great condition and I hate to let it go.  Had shoulder surgery this past summer and I am thinking of getting something smaller.  Email me with any questions.  stolz46@gmail.com

An L-03R was just listed in the "for sale" section.    You two need to get together.

I have one in the For Sale section. E-mail if interested. I can supply any more pics that you might need, ankwhit@sbcglobal.net

Thanks, Aaron
