Jim at Trinity Guitars

My dad did something recently he doesn't do often. Spent a good amount of money on himself. He's been retired now for about six years and will observe his 70th birthday this next year. Last week he purchased a Larrivee L-03R from Jim Hollar @ Trinity and I wanted to let everyone know what a wonderful experience this was for Dad. Jim spoke with me for a while on the phone and then to my father later on. He answered any and all questions fully and with great patience. Dad has been like a little kid through the whole process and is now waiting for the box to warm up before he opens it. Although it's not a high dollar guitar to most, it's the most he's ever spent on a guitar (much less on himself) and to him a once-in-a-lifetime thing and I'd truly like to thank Jim for making my father's holiday season really special.

Good for you helping your dad with his purchase, there is going to be a strong bond between you once he gets the new guitar fired up and used to it. Jim jumped through a lot of hoops for me with my 12er, and the package he put together for my son's college grad present was beyond helpful. Even things he doesn't stock like Colosi pins, certain tuners , and several other items were gathered and inspected and shipped so all was ready for him on NGD. It helped to cement a sense of love and care that we share now at every chance we get. Jim will go the extra mile for you, all you need to do is know what you want and he'll walk you through the process. Clean work, fast delivery, and I don't know of too many business men I would call caring but that is the word I would use for Jim. A true gentleman with a knowledgeable and understanding honest ethic. There is no doubt your dad and you are going to be pleased, get us some pictures, I love new guitar pictures

Well, Dad and I are seperated by about 350 miles, so I'll have to wait to play it and take pics, but I'll make sure I do. I'm just happy for Dad, he's always wanted a nice guitar and never bought one until now. He wasn't sure about body sizes or styles (plays mostly finger-style stuff) and Jim talked him through everything. Dad said it best, " I haven't had this much fun in a long time." And he hasn't even played it yet.

The L-03R is all the high-dollar guitar he'll ever need. It might not have gloss or bling--I happen to like satin and prefer wood to abalone--but it's got great top, side and back woods, dovetail neck, maple binding, ebony fetboard, etc. It's good enough for the couch or the Grand Ole Opry.
Sounds like your dad is the kind we all want to have and the kind we all want to be. I hope he has a very happy 70th, and many, many more.

Such a great story.  I'd like to be a fly on the wall as your dad opens the case and plays those first few diddies.  Kudos to Jim, too.  Always hear of top-notch experiences with him.

I too purchased a L-03R from Jim. Trinity Guitars is top notch in every way....You'll Love the L-03R. A little later I purchased a L-05 and a D-05. All from Trinity Guitars. All were the smoothest of transactions.
