Walking into church this evening with my Larrivée cased D-03R, and some guy leaving from a wedding says "Hey, there's a guy that knows good guitars! What model?"

He plays a c-09 or 10 in KOA (I can't remember which) but of course didn't have it with him.

A little affirmation is nice.

That must have been nice, if anyone knows or heard of acoustic guitars, its usually a Martin or maybe a Taylor
Those who know,know.

Philosophically speaking it's our human nature to seek fellowship. This desire to celebrate common ground drives this and all other forums. The fact that Larrivees are not as popular as Martins or Taylors adds a bit of mystique to the fan base. Am I getting carried away ? sure, still the point is valid.

Yes, it's nice when someone comments about my Larry's too, even my sons kinda crack me up when they visit with their Martins & Gibby. They wanna play dad's Larrivee's. I don't mind but they had their choice when I bought theire for them (had to have the headstocks ya know), I do get to play theirs though, and I am happy with my 2 larrrivee's. Smug but good feeling. :winkin:

:+1: The first 10 years I had mine only saw 2 others.  One was a decked out L-72 under a glass case.
Also was told about one that someone picked up in an Atlanta pawn shop for a couple hundred bucks.

My Larrivee's a bit small to ride. Have to use Gallagher, big dread for that.

I've long since lost the need to belong. (Those Harley folks are pretty funny, imho) I too busy being myself than to be in a pack. I come to a place like this to learn about the company/instrument, and to share what I know so others can learn, if I can. When I was a kid learning to play, I had more than a few that shrugged off my questions about music. I'm not that person.

on topic...I've had a few look at my Larrivee's headstock wondering what it was. The big "Larrivee" on my case will in time get a few comments, I'm sure.

In Newmarket, Ontario they walk in my house, see "Larrivee" and they know what it is. Always brings on a discussion of good guitars. Have a Timmies  :coffee :donut

Going along with the pack is altogether different from enjoying fellowship with like
minded people. If you by a Harley to fit in with the pack that would be pathetic. On the other hand If you love Harleys you would enjoy the company of those who share your passion.

that's funny, but I've got to admit the "the dude abides" line in rev's signature made me laugh even harder!  Love the big lebowski!  "Chinamen is not the preferred nomenclature, Asian-American please."  "We're not talking about the guy that built the f-ing railroads Walter, the guy pissed on my rug" :roll

Well said, and very true.  Being a motorcyclist (notice I didn't say biker), I find people with similar riding styles tend to hang together.
Since I enjoy the sport touring motorcycing style combined with camping.  Those are the people I associate with.  We don't ride in packs but we camp together once we arrive at our destination.  Same with people who appreciate Larrivee guitars,  or Irish trad, or dulcimers, old VW's,  etc etc.

One String to rule them all ? Sorry I couldn't resist.

I've only met one person who also had a Larrivee. I have met countless who get a blank look on their face at the mention of the Larrivee name.  :? They don't know what their missing.
