I tracked Larrivees for 7 or 8 months before I bid on one on ebay.  I noticed the pxs were steadily falling and when an OM 09 with a crack in it went for 610 I decided to take the plunge.  On Aug 30 I got an OM-05 SBT for 920 plus shipping. It was advtsd as MINT and boy was it ever mint.  Not a scratch on it.  I have continued to monitor guitar bids on the bay.  A lot of Larrivees are recvg no bids or not making the reserve px.   09s and 10s with great inlays are the highest but they are still low, imho.  This is a great time to buy a Larrivee.  I don't follow other makes on ebay.

shoot, I was going to put in a proxy bid as I had to leave the house an hour or two before it ended, I think it was @$700 something, but I  figured it wouldn't win so I didn't ...........

drumroll........................................ my proxy was going to be $951

go figure  LOL

enjoy that D50!     :cheers

The D-50 arrived yesterday. It was a bit dirty when it got here and sounded very dull. But after a session with Virtuoso cleaner and polish, and a new set of strings, it's exactly what I remember my old D-50 to be.

It appears to be an early 200s D-50 because it has an abalone rosette. It also has a plastic nut and saddle, so it looks like a switch to bone is in the near future.

I got a great deal on a great guitar.

Jim;

After what you have been through with your D18 you deserve a pile-0-good guitar karma, glad this one found you

Well - someone else just got a good deal - a nice D03 just went on EBAY for $513 - only 2 bids - I was tempted.  Congrats to the lucky purchaser!

There was an OM-09 recently on my local Craigslist for $950, no longer listed--which, if it was in good shape, is quite the deal. I'm not in the market now. But someone made out really well.
