bought I new larrivee D03 a few weeks back, had to return it, bridge pins would not stay in place, defect obviously,
No biggie but they only had the one, and I didnt want another model or brand of guitar.they had a d03r for more that I would have bought ,but this one had a pretty fat neck!
So, I asked for a refund, I paid cash(never again) and since they had not done any sales ,they had no cash to refund me.
I didnt want to go back later or the next day due to the store being pretty far from where I live and traffic and work , so I told them to just sent me a check.
they told me it would take up to 3 weeks, I called today to follow up on not getting the check yet(3 weeks today)
I guess they want to make as much interest on my money as they can.
At least Guitar Center will cut you a check then and there.
wish Guitar Center sold Larrivees again. woulnt have to wait so darn long.
I will never buy a big item from Sam Ash.
anyone have a similar problem?
needed to rant.

I'm curious about the bridge pins not staying in place.    Was that only during a string change?

Yeah , pretty much, I had to really jam the pins in for them to stay.
I never had that problem with any Larrivee or any guitar for that  matter.
just didnt feel right to have to deal with that problem with a new guitar,I did think about buying larger pins
but in the end I thought I might void the warranty.

Sometimes it's just a matter of pulling the string tight to ensure it's in contact with the bridge plate.    If that doesn't keep the pins in place, then you can bevel the ends of the pins to prevent the strings from snagging on them.

To me, it seemed like the holes were drillied too large, I really had to put in the pins deep, too deep, then it was hard to take them out.
the head of the pins, should have a little meat sticking out to be able to take the pins out, there was too much of the pin inside,
if that makes sense

If you liked the guitar, it would have been really easy to get a pin with a larger daimeter/taper and fitted them to the guitar.

I did like the guitar, but I will probably end up with a Do3r or a Do9
Its not like I cant find another one.
its not a big thing really , I was just ranting about Sam Ash, I still like and will buy another Larrivee.
oh by the way, I didnt get a warranty card from Sam Ash or Larrivee, that also sealed the deal of sending it back
I never got one and neither Sam ash or Larrivee followed up with a simple warranty card.
I emailed and called both, and no answer.
