This is my second post and I forgot donuts on the first, so have some and sit back and read my tale.   :donut :donut :donut2 :coffee

In my first post I was trying to decide between an L-03W or and OM-03MQ (Quilted Hog).  I went with the OM-03 and ordered it from Dave at GuitarAdaptions.  I ordered on 12/12 and because of Christmas I had it sent on 12/27.  12/27 came and I got an email saying it was shipped UPS, and boy was I excited.  12/28 did a track on it and it was still in Ill. with a delivery date of 1/2/07.  I would check the track and it was the same each day no updates.  We just had a blizzard in Colorado before Christmas and then another a week later so it probably got stuck somewhere.  The second came and went and no guitar and no UPS update.  I called Dave and he said don't worry.  On the 4th I had him put a trace on it.  UPS says a trace can take 8 days (this was getting crazy) :crying:.  Another storm came on the Friday after the first so I thought it would be another day or so.  I took the family to the mountains to iceskate on Saturday the 6th.  We got caught in a wind/snow storm and did not arrive back home until midnight.  The guitar was at the door (good neighborhood) :SHK>.

Opened the next day and was totally amazed.  Its the sweatest guitar I have seen and it is mine.  Larrivee is an amazing guitar company.  Nobody can beat their price. :nana_guitar

PS Dave at guitaradoptions was very accommodating to me and all my phone calls during this time.  UPS needs to take a clue from FedEx and update their tracking system better.

What's up with these delivery drivers just dropping off guitars like that?  I had a new Martin delivered recently and the driver didn't so much as ring the doorbell. Just set it on the porch and drove away!

And you would rather they just left you a note and drove away with your guitar?  I like it that they leave it for you.  If you are expecting a guitar, get off of work early so you can be there when it arrives.

I had no idea when it was going to arrive.  I called UPS daily and they were clueless also.  The guitar was sitting on the other side of an arch on the milkbox.  The milkbox had snow on it, but I guess the driver did not want to set it on the wet cement.  I received an email from UPS the next day saying my guitar was delivered to me :roll at 1:40pm.  So it sat in the snow for 10 hours.  We had winds in our area up to 100 MPH.  The guitar could of blown away and I would not have known it  :crying:.

That was not a good situation. I knew my delivery of my "Christmas" P-09 was probably going to happen before I got home from a holiday visit to family so called UPS and told them to NOT leave it unless I was home. We are in a rural community so I wasnt afraid it would  be taken but I didnt want it exposed to the weather ( or raccoons and skunks ) I was happy to have it arrive a couple of hours after I got home!

I always have them add " (backdoor)" right after my street address. The local UPS and Fedex guys know to leave it around back and out of sight.  The most recent Fedex guitar delivery required an adult signature for delivery.  This was specified by the person shipping the instrument and was not a problem for me since I knew thru emails this would be required.  The hard part was waiting for the box to come up to room temperature several hours later before I dared open the guitar case.

Exactly what I'm doing this weekend.  Tracking # not showing up and the weather getting colder as we head into next week...

Long, long days   :crying:
