Question For Unclrob

Do you know what wood was used on the fretboard of a 1996 Guild JF30-12? We were looking at my husband's and couldn't decide what wood it is. It looks like mahogany to me. They seem to have changed several things since then.

Obviously I'm not unclrob   :D  , but it should be rosewood.

You got it's rosewood and it should have a maple neck,I know at some point they did switch to a mahogany neck but the finger board stayed rosewood.

He'll be glad to hear it's rosewood--that was his guess. His has the maple neck. The wood is very curly--prettiest thing I've seen in a long time! I told him that's the only curvy blonde he's allowed to hold! (I'm not blonde) :D

That blonde joke never gets old with guitar players, does it? I played a blonde lawsuit Ibanez ES-175 copy through my first year in college, then the neck block cracked. While it was being repaired, I acquired two new archtops to take its place. When the blonde was repaired, I continued to bring it out on stage as a backup for my new guit, an all-black D'Aquisto. Just imagine every tasteless joke a bunch of semi-classless jazz musicians (including five trombonists) could come up with, and I heard all of them.

I guess that's what us guitar players get for hanging out with musicians...
