If you wanna purchase these pickups, is it best to just contact Larrivee or do they have any dealers selling them yet?

Contact Larrivee directly and plan to pay through a Paypal account; that's what I've done.

I would suggest putting "purchase Larrivee pickups" in the subject line of your e-mail.

Don't know what to tell you - they've totally updated their website since that article appeared, and they don't seem to have it posted anywhere anymore. Too bad, it was a great article.

Thanks for verifying that. I sent them an email asking if it's available in some archive or something. If I can I'll get a hold of it, maybe make a sticky here somewhere with the text. With permission, of course.

Hmmm......like Larrivee guitars - love the guitars, hate the website.

(The Facebook page helps make up for it though....plenty of gas-inducing pictures and information there, updated daily in most cases.)

Did you ever hear back from Larrivee?

BTW, I "popped the top" (pulled the neck pickup) on my 12/2009 RS-4 last night just to refresh my memory, and the back of the pickups have the Larrivee label/decal on them, but they don't say "Generation III" so I'm assuming they're Generation II...

I haven't yet. I need to just give them a call one day and ask. I just keep hearing how much Unclerob raved about the bridge pickup and i'd like to put one in my partscaster.

i've never heard back re: that interview of Matthew. Hope it turns up again somewhere.

In the meantime, I'm having a blast with my RS-2, and these pickups are the bees knees.

I currently have only one other humbucker guitar, and It's got Sheptone Tribute PAF's. A fine quality boutique PAF that's well regarded, and the differences between the sets is significant, but all good. (If I recall correctly, 'cause I've hardly touched that guitar since the RS-2 arrived.)

Has anyone played these G3 'buckers through a true 5F1/Champ or quality 5F1 clone? Curious how that pairing works.
