Hi all...

New here... I have a 1990 L-25 (serial # 25 10470)  12 string that I'm considering selling. It sounds gorgeous, but I never play it.  Really uncertain as to the value as I've never seen one trade...any ideas appreciated.  Not sure how to put pictures up but can send to anyone with an interest...have some recordings with the guitar as well and can send links.

Thanks
Ron

Hey Ron,
Welcome to the forum.  Sounds like you have a very rare Larrivee 12 string there.  I would love to see pictures, but I really don't know how to post them although I am sure someone will have to post them for you as I know you have to have x number of posts before you can post pictures.  What is the wood combination, and how long have you owned the L-25?  Good luck with your decision, I am certain you will generate some interest here.

PS as per the rules you need to provide coffee and dough nuts  for the forum as a newbie.  Here I will help you out. :coffee :coffee :coffee :donut :donut :donut2 :donut2 :donut2 :donut

Sorry...didn't know about the coffee and donuts.... thanks for covering me  :bgrin:

Happy to send some pictures your way via email...just let me know..that goes for anyone interested or curious. Don't know too much about it..I'm the second owner. Couldn't figure out what model it was so I found the serial # and emailed Larrivee. They got back with the model info and production year.  Pretty sure I'll be selling it, maybe in the next week or so, but would prefer not to go the ebay route.

Ron

Hi Ron!

Got my interest - Could you send me a pic or two? A Larrivee 12 string might be just the thing to add to my family -

Thanks! Tad

NIce guitar.  Do you know how much you'd like to get for it?

Actually...part of this process is to see if I can establish a price. I can find no real comparables, so it's a little bit of a guessing game.  If anyone wants to venture a guess, please chime in. I'd like to sell it to a good home and have every intention of trying to find a fair price..one that makes sense for me and a buyer. I think broadly, it fits between $1000 and $2000, not that that's any real help

Ron

Given that a good benchmark for high-quality 12s is the Martin D-35-12, these guitars (in immaculate shape) sell in the 1300-1700 range, so I think you're broad ballpark 1000-2000 range is just about right on. I'm thinking that an asking price of 1500-1700 for the Larrivee would be about right. Just my opinion! Good luck with it.

Thanks...that's where I think it will end up. Let's try $1600....

I know that guitars are personal and that it's tough buying over the web, so I'll give a day or 2 approval with money back. I'll pay shipping and insurance to the buyer...buyer takes care of any shipping and insurance if returned. I have some guitar shipping boxes (selling a Ric 12 too!) and guitar will be carefully packed.

Hard case is included, neck at the nut is 1 7/8" .... action at the 12th fret is 3/8 " ... some normal wear, but hasn't seen a lot of playing time. It did have a Fishman, but I took it out in order to access the serial number, which is inside stamped on the end of the neck and was covered up. Saddle is solid. I had the guitar inspected and set up by a luthier a couple years ago. I also have some additional pictures to what has been posted.

Feel free to contact me at rbrault@optonline.net. We can certainly chat by phone too, but email me first please. Appreciate everyone's help and interest.

Ron

3/8" at the 12th fret? Sure that isn't a lap steel? :humour:

But seriously -  :nice guitar:

but it is a 12 string    :humour:

Any interest in a swap plus cash?  I have a Washburn Cumberland j28 special edition that I would part with for a good 12 string. Oh yeah,  could the electronics be placed back in the guitar?  Good luck with your sale   docrach1

actually ....just re-measured the action.. it's actually 1/8 " at the 12 th fret.  No excuse...just can't read a tape measure.  :rolleye:

Apologies

Ron

It's gone and cheaply too.

What a pretty guitar.
