What do you guys think of them? I think they compliment the Larrivee nicely (aesthetically)...but what about sound? (and...are they a pain to put on?)
I have used one on my L body and found that it did help a small amount in keeping my forearm from damping the top. Not a dramatic improvement in either tone or comfort on this guitar.
I have temporarily placed one on my OM and have found it to be much more dramatic an effect in both areas. I will be adding one as soon as I can for this reason.
They do help with the tone, but some have noted problems in removing them. Be careful if you think you might change your mind about having it.

Ok...I have only looked into them recently...they are glued on sort of like a pickguard? Is that correct?
Matt
I had mine on my L for a couple of years, and it came off quite easily. I was prepared to use dental floss if necessary.
i got a mini one for my parlor and stuck it on temporarily. i actually liked it since it helped a little with volume and also with holding the parlor in place under my right arm since it has such a small lower bout. i decided against installing it permanantly because of the worry it will cause a "tan line" on the soundboard if i decided to remove it at a future time.
the arm rest has a strip of a thick rubbery adheisive on the contact point that is suppose to be removable without too much problem which appears to be true from what folks say.
I was quite skeptical about them at first. I now have them on all of my guitars.

Not glued, Matt. They have a thin strip of good double stick tape. Peel the back off, place, and press. Very easy.
They have two sizes, the junior fits better on an OM. I have them on all my guitars for comfort. They do increase volume and sustain a bit.
