Title: beginner electric amp
Post by: hcole on October 19, 2005, 09:25:44 PM
Well I recently purchased a used strat, so now I need an amp.  Nothing fancy or tremendously loud just something I can use in my house to get a feel for the electric.  So far I've received two suggestions, a vox ad30vt and roland microcube.  Any thoughts on these two or other suggestions.  Right now I think I'm looking to spend 150 or so but have a little flexibility to go higher than that if something seems to good to pass up.

I bought a little crate used on craigslist about 15 months ago for $30.  It was almost brand new bought by someone for his son who never played.  Seems just fine to me as a knockaround the house.  I am sure it would be loud enough to annoy the neighbors.  It works well and was less expensive than a g7th capo.  it was a nice way to get started for me.

Tech21 Trademark 10 . From Marshall to Fender modeling and then some.

Solid state, no tube hassles. Great company, used on Ebay about $150, new from Musicians Friend, $249.
