Title: For You Canadians Out There
Post by: Homer on March 21, 2004, 11:07:51 AM
Hi there,

I'm new to the forum and have a question for all you Canadians out there:

Have you purchased a used guitar from a forum member (or ebay) in the U.S.? If so, how much were the taxes and brokerage fees? Furthermore, does it make a difference when buying a Larrivee, since they are made in Canada?

Thanks!

Hi...I`m a Canuck in Japan and I`ve sent guitars home to Montreal from here by postal service and there have not been any added charges as of yet. Surprisingly, no damage either, of course I ship insured. Wonder if it would be the same from the US to Canuckistan.

I just contacted Canada customs. Because of Free Trade, there are no duties if you ship a guitar from the U.S. to Canada - only taxes PST and GST, provided that the guitar is made in North America.
