Title: SOLD! Epiphone Les Paul ES "Hollow body" with upgrades
Post by: bing4sons on July 15, 2005, 08:10:53 PM
SOLD!

This is one I'm probably going to be sorry I let go.  This is an limited edition (only made a couple of years) Epiphone Les Paul ES in excellent condition.  It is a hollow body and was last made in 2001, I believe.

I have made several upgrades to this guitar, including:

Also included is a Les Paul hard shell case, which I had to purchase separately, and the leather strap shown.

This guitar gives a great clean tone, but also sounds great overdriven.  It plays & sounds great.  It is currently set up with 10's on it.

There is a pin point sized nick on the neck pickup.  Other than that it's in super condition.

Email me at bing4sons@bellsouth.net if interested.  $575 plus shiping.

Hey Bing, great looking guitar.  Is it a full hollow body, or a semi-hollow?  I had an Epiphone Casino I sold last year that I have been missing ever since.  The Casino was a great house guitar.  I couldn't turn up very loud without feedback though, the P-90's liked to hum and squeal.  How is this one at moderate volume?  Time to do some figuring, better take off my shoes!  Let's see, if I sell my strat, check the paypal balance, ...... -_-

It's a full hollow body.  There's just a block where the bridge is attached.

I've never had an issue with feedback on this guitar, playing in a band situation.  However, I don't play extremely loud, typically 4 on a Hot Rod Deluxe is as loud (which is pretty darn loud) as I will play.

Music Man makes some awesome electrics.  My usual philosophy is to buy moderately priced electrics with good pickups, or put good pickups in them (like you did the to Epi), and then play through better amps.  So much of an electric's tone comes from the pickups and the amp that I don't usually spend big money on the guitar.  That being said, the Music Man stuff is very, very good.  If I had any inclination or ability to play lead guitar in a rock band, the Music Man would be perfect.

I just received the Epi and it is awesome!  Thanks Bing!  When Bing says it is near-mint, he means it!  I don't think I could tell the difference between this guitar and a new one.  The mark on the pickup cover isn't even very visible.  Thanks for a great guitar!  J
