I finally got my hm-1's in and although I havent had much time to record I did do a little 35 sec. test. I tried to use auditions limiter but couldnt get it to sound good so I ended up doing a little compression. I used no eq or any other effects. Its just basic strumming, nothing special. I had one mic pointed towards the 12/14 frets, and another above my shoulder. And my d-03r has medium PB EXPs. A couple of people wanted to hear the hm-1's so here it is.

Nice! I'm looking forward to getting one. For dynamic mikes I've been using the EV767As, those are great for miking amps as well as vocals. This past Sunday, we knind of cranked'er up a little for the praise songs. I have the Fender Blues Jr, other has a Marshall, and we mike both. Had another acoustic straight into the board, with all going it was pretty good.
Looking forward to hearing more from you!
Excuse me, but what is an Hm-1? A mic? A pickup? You usd the plural. You installed two mics/pickups in your Larrivee?
Doug J
I put one mic pointing toward the 12 fret and one over my shoulder. The above the shoulder mic gives it a pretty cool sound if you mix it right. I just did it in my gameroom too which is a pretty bad place but thats where the comp it so...
Did you get the M-Audio duo or did you go with another audio interface
Sounds nice. Love the sound of your D-03R!
Jeff
Its recorded from my m-audio mobile pre at 16bit sound.
Any more recordings, have I missed them?
