walmart!!!!!!!!
YES its true.
While enjoying an old tv show, there it was walmart offering fenders.
Glad to see it. Though you can order just about everything through Walmart now (I ordered my home gym through them), the fact that they were advertising guitars on a TV show feels really good. It's been a number of years since I've seen that.
I think once upon a time this would have "cheapened the brand." But younger people don't seem to care about stuff like this anymore, and they are the ones companies are targeting now. I'm in my early 50s and can fully sense that I have stepped out of the demographic being marketed to (unless it's happy pills, weight loss, insurance, etc.).
YMMV but I sort of lost interest in Fender and Gibson somewhere along the way. They have been making the same stuff for 50 years and acting like it's something new every time a different version of it is released. "Look, it's the ALL-NEW 50s slim neck Les Paul with blah-blah-blah humbucker in the neck and a gee-whiz screamer in the bridge!" It just seems a little goofy at this point to me.
I truly love the look for telecasters, but I'd get me a Larrivee baker T rather than a fender.
