Price: $1100

For Sale: Larivee Parlor Guitar Model 0-01, Mfg date 28 August 2000

I am selling a Larivee Parlor guitar I bought new in late 2000, to have a guitar when visiting my parents at their retirement abode. Played often, with love and delight over the next 13 years.

This is an all-solid wood Mahogany back-and-sides and Sitka Spruce top. Ebony fretboard and bridge.

Built in Vancouver, Canada.

Nut width 1 3/4".

12 frets to the body, scale length 24".

Clear pickguard.

Serial Number 43691.

Recently set up by Todd Stock, including ramping the string slots in the bridge.

Very sweet guitar, great for travel, for the office, for the couch.

Price is $1100 with a Harptone Single-0 hard case. Not interested in trades.

Happy to discuss via email or text or voice call. Longtime member at Acoustic Guitar Forum with lots of transaction.

Thanks for your interest!
Marc

Hi, this looks like a great guitar.  Is there much fretwear?  Is there a decent amount of adjustment left in the truss rod, since these are dovetails they can be expensive to reset.  Thanks!

If your concern is the action on the neck (higher as you approach the 12th fret, the question is how much saddle is there on the bridge.
Do not adjust the truss rod to lower the action.
The truss rod is for relief only.
Guitar neck relief is the curve in the neck of a guitar that allows the strings to move as they vibrate. It's an important part of a guitar's setup, and it helps to avoid string buzz.

Thanks -- barely any fretwear, lots of saddle with a good professional setup. The guitar saw only occasional play when I was visiting my parents. It's in excellent condition with much life to live!

Thanks for the additional information, looks great.

And thanks Queequeg for the good point re: truss rod adjustment.  I don't do set ups myself, but this is helpful info!

My '99 O-01 is the acoustic I'll never sell.

Good luck on your sale though.

Artbocage,

First, welcome to the forum and don't be a stranger here. It looks like you bought a nice guitar with a great case. As you can see, this is a good place to gain both perspective and sound information about the nuts and bolts and inner workings of guitars. My first Larrivee was a parlor similar to yours purchased new in 2004 with a flamed maple back and side. After you've played yours for a few weeks, let us know your thoughts.
